Paccheri Lisci di Gragnano PGI from Fabbrica della Pasta are a short, smooth pasta format, ideal with fish sauces and creamy sauces in general. The term "paccheri" derives from a particular anecdote typical of Gragnano. At the end of the 19th century, children were dedicated to collecting "minuzzaglia" (remnants of pasta that fell while drying in the street). Sometimes someone tried to keep this leftover pasta for themselves. The owner of the factory, realizing what had happened, punished them by giving them a slap, which in the Neapolitan dialect is indicated by the name "pacchero".
